NFTR 106 - DURBAN POISON - TONITE 7"
Killer new single from this Victoria, B.C. band fronted by a male-to-female transexual singer with a fantastic sound like garage rock 'n' roll distilled through early Australian punk ala Saints and fellow Canadians Teenage Head with a splashes of the Riffs, Radio Reelers, Ramones, New York Dolls and Zodiac Killers.
Durban Poison have taken up the DIY ethos of garage rock with an almost effortless, carefree mentality and in all honesty, these guys could have rocked a stage in Detroit circa 1978 and killed the place.
There's a fun, honest expressiveness to their music that defies you to sit still and listen to it and Durban Poison honestly do want to send you back to the seventies, when music was a little more innocent, and when enjoying it wasn't so much goddamn work.
There are 2 covers for this 7". The regular version is the grimy bathroom wall and the limited edition is the open book. This limited version (only 50) is printed on clear plastic and costs more so
